While I was reading the book Making it Happen by McKenzie Kyle, I immediately recognized the similarities of Project Management and Instructional Design. The design steps that Martha gave to Will to execute the Project Management were almost exactly the steps we use to create an ID. In the business world in particular the sponsor should be kept abreast as the project progresses. In the beginning stages there are many questions to be answered. The problem, the needs to be addressed, the best way to deliver the instruction are detailed questions that if understood from the beginning will almost assure an effective ID. On of the most important steps to creating an ID is the review process. The process is also very important to successful project management. There needs to be a thorough review and then the ID should be updated. The genesis of the project is just as important as the review. |
