In my position as the Public Relations Associate at The Salvation Army, I am responsible for training staff and officers to upload stories and images. A problem that many of the users have is understanding the importance of low resolution images for the web and high resolution images for print. Some of the users seem to easily get frustrated when trying to upload images to the web. Others have issues with understanding that the web images on our site and others are low resolution images and these images can't be used for print. As I think about this problem, which to me seems simple, I realize that unless you have direct knowledge of graphics communication and web design, you probably will not understand. I hope to one day teach some form of visual communications courses and trying to create an instruction to address this issue will help prepare me for this goal. | ![]() |
